Dates, events planned and all you need to know about the upcoming 15th Al Dhafra Water Festival
Get ready to dive headfirst into Abu Dhabi’s heritage with the upcoming 15th Al Dhafra Water Festival!
Taking place from 16-25 February, don’t miss out on an epic line-up of events at Al Mughira Beach, Al Dhafra Region. The event, organised by Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, will feature traditional and modern races
The festival boasts various events, including the Marawah Dhow Sailing Race (43ft), a Tafrees (pole boat) traditional race, the Al Mugheira traditional rowing race, kitesurfing and Paddleboarding, the Al Dhafra Regatta, the Salaha sailing race, Jananah Dhow Sailing Race (22ft).

Apart from the blend of brilliant races, visitors are also in for a treat with several additional events including competitions in carrom, dominoes, cycling, running, beach soccer, beach volleyball, and traditional games.
When not cheering at the races, the 15th Al Dhafra Water Festival also offers a heritage market open daily from 4pm-10pm with a variety of experiences for the whole family. Add to that a designated camping area, a food court ready to fuel you through the fun and numerous pavilions – there’s a lot to look out for.
