
Love jazz? Then Abu Dhabi’s just the place you’re going to want to be in 2025 as the Global Host for International Jazz Day
It’s about to get all jazzy up here in the UAE capital in 2025! Abu Dhabi’s all set to get the crowds grooving as the Global Host for International Jazz Day.
Come 30 April, residents can experience a unique blend of Arabian and Emirati traditions in the best way possible – through jazz.
Another remarkable effort of the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), fans of the genre can get pumped to hear the haunting melodies of the Oud, Qanoon, and Ney mixing with jazzy rhythms, introducing the world to the captivating sounds of Arabic Jazz.
With several amazing jazz bars scattered across town, Abu Dhabi has well earned its place as a UNESCO Creative City of Music.

Concerts aside though, there’s plenty of infotainment and community outreach on the agenda!
Higher-education institutions like Berklee Abu Dhabi and New York University Abu Dhabi alongside other UAE-based universities will also open their doors, offering workshops and masterclasses in their lecture halls, exhibition spaces and auditoriums.
Special attention will be paid to the participation of young musicians, encouraging them to cultivate their interest in music and pursue a career in jazz.
Since its inception by UNESCO in 2011, International Jazz Day has been a powerful force for unity, celebrating jazz’s ability to foster dialogue, freedom of expression, and respect for diversity.
